This Cancellation & Refund Policy (“Policy”) describes how cancellations and refunds work for BuildProof. It supplements Section 10 of our Terms of Service & Privacy Policy. Capitalized terms used here have the meanings given in the Terms.

1. Free trial — 7 days

Both Starter and Growth plans start with a 7-day free trial. We collect a payment method when the trial begins.

  • You are not charged during the trial period.
  • You will be automatically billed on day 7 at the plan rate you chose (monthly or annual), unless you cancel before then.
  • You can cancel any time during the trial from Settings → Billing without being charged.

2. 14-day refund window

For the first paid charge on any plan, you may request a full refund within 14 calendar daysof that charge. This aligns with Paddle’s Buyer Terms and applies regardless of how much you have used the Service.

  • The 14-day window starts on the date of your first paid charge — typically day 7 of your subscription, when the trial converts.
  • Email support@buildproof.build with your workspace name and the charge date. Refunds are issued to the original payment method, normally within 3 business days.
  • The 14-day window applies to your first paid charge. After it expires, the plan-specific terms below apply.

3. Monthly subscriptions

If you continue past the trial on a monthly plan:

  • The subscription renews each month and is charged in advance.
  • Cancelling stops further billing immediately. You retain access to the workspace until the end of your current paid month.
  • Except as provided in Section 2 (14-day refund window) on your first paid charge, we do not refund the partial or remaining portion of a monthly cycle that has already been charged, except where required by applicable law.

4. Annual subscriptions

If you choose an annual plan:

  • You are charged 12 months in advance at the annual rate (which already reflects the equivalent of 2 free months versus monthly billing).
  • If you cancel within 30 days of your annual billing date, you may request a refund for the unused months on a pro-rated basis (excluding the months already used). Send the request to support@buildproof.build with your workspace ID.
  • After 30 days, annual subscriptions are non-refundable. You retain access through the end of the paid year, and renewal will not occur if you have cancelled.

5. Billing errors and duplicate charges

If you believe you have been billed in error (duplicate charge, charge after cancellation, incorrect amount), contact us at support@buildproof.build within 60 days of the charge. We will investigate and, where the claim is valid, issue a refund to the original payment method.

6. Payment-processor terms

Subscriptions are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record. Paddle’s own refund policies and statutory consumer-protection rights (where applicable) apply in addition to this Policy. Where Paddle’s policy or applicable law gives you a more generous right, that more generous right applies.

7. Discretionary refunds

Refunds outside this Policy are at our sole discretion. Approval of one refund does not create entitlement to future refunds.

8. How to request a refund

Email support@buildproof.build with:

  • Your workspace name and slug
  • The charge date and amount in question
  • The reason for the request

We aim to respond within 3 business days.

9. Statutory rights preserved

Nothing in this Policy limits rights, remedies, or refunds that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction. Where local law gives you mandatory rights that cannot be waived, those rights continue to apply only to the extent required by law.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted, with a new “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Policy.
